Turn Skills Into Opportunity
The Installment Training Program equips you with OSHA Safety, Furniture Assembly, Logistics, and Business training to launch your career or company.
At the Installment Training Program (ITP), our mission is not only to train students in furniture installation and logistics, but also to equip them with the life skills they need to thrive. Many participants come from challenging backgrounds—some are re-entry citizens, single parents, or individuals seeking a new path. Our program focuses on three core goals:
1. Self-Sufficiency and Independence
Our first goal is to help students take care of themselves. While this may sound simple, many individuals leaving incarceration or difficult life situations often feel stuck without a path forward. We work with students to build confidence, set goals, and realize their true potential so they can move toward independence.
2. Well-Being and Positive Mental Health
Our second goal is to support students not only in their careers, but also in their mental and emotional health. Many of our participants struggle with challenges such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, or separation anxiety, which can make it difficult to transition back into society and maintain stability.
In North Carolina, nearly 44% of people released from prison are arrested again within two years, and many return to prison during that same period. Research shows that unaddressed mental health struggles are a major factor in this cycle. At ITP, we work to break that pattern by creating a structured, supportive training environment that builds confidence, reduces stress, and encourages a healthy mindset for long-term success.

3. Financial Literacy and Generational Wealth
Our third goal is to prepare students for financial independence and long-term stability. Alongside hands-on furniture installation training, students will also receive instruction through Second Chance Academy. Here, they learn not just how to earn money, but how to manage it wisely, save it, and pass it on as generational wealth.
Many of our students come from environments where survival meant hustling just to get by. At ITP, we teach them to shift that same drive into legitimate skills, entrepreneurship, and business opportunities—creating a foundation for financial security and success.
In addition, students can choose an online elective in other business start-ups through Second Chance Academy, giving them the flexibility to learn at their own pace while exploring additional pathways to business ownership and wealth creation.
